Brake Fluid | Checking Brake Fluid | Chevrolet Cruze | 🚗🛠

The brake / clutch master cylinder reservoir is filled with DOT 3 brake fluid as indicated on the fuel cap.

There are only two reasons why the level of brake fluid in the tank could drop:

• Brake fluid level decreases due to normal brake lining wear. When new fillings are installed, the fluid level rises.

• A fluid leak in the brake / clutch hydraulic system can also cause a low fluid level. Having the hydraulic brake / clutch system fixed, because a leak means that sooner or later the brakes will not work well.

Do not fill the brake / clutch fluid.

The addition of liquid does not correct a leak.
If liquid is added when the packing is worn, there will be too much fluid when new brake linings are installed. Add or remove fluid, if necessary, only when working on the hydraulic brake / clutch system.
